Thinking from one perspective

The Grade 4 students watched an Insight presentation from one perspective. 

The news show they watched was from the perspective of an Indigenous Australian talking about the conflict between Settlers to Australia and the rights of Aboriginal people.

The students discussed the main points of the news story - Who, What, Where, When, Why.

They practiced reading the script in pairs and created an audio recording using the Bossjock Jnr iPad app. 

The students will post their recording on their own blog. 

We will listen to their recordings in class and highlight the things we liked about each recording. Ie speaking clearly, speaking with expression, pace. 

Tomorrow the students will be using this Insight format to show their perspective / argument for the Mekong dam case study. Some students will be speaking from the perspective of Business / Government - in favor of the dam. Others will be speaking from the perspective of the local people / fishermen - against the dam.
