Hot Seat - thinking and questioning
The Grade 4 students took turns sitting in the hot seat today and asking questions.
We chose characters from our class book 'Iggies house' by Judy Blume.
Hot seating is when a character is questioned by the class about his/her background, behavior and feelings. The students asked excellent questions and the 'character' answered showing a good understanding of the character and the book.
Students had turns playing the role of Winnie, Harvey and Ms Landon. They were asked questions about why they reacted the way they did, how they felt, about their relationships and motivations.
The students will continue to think from the perspective of a character tomorrow and will write journal entries from one characters perspective.
