Ideological conflict

Today we discussed ideological conflict.
Ideologies are the core value, beliefs of a group. There are many cases in history where people are forced to change their ideology to be in line with that of a leader or group in power.

We discussed Mao Tse Tung's rule in China in the 1960's. The people had to change their thinking and actions so they did not get in trouble or get sent to a re-education camp. We also discussed the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot in Cambodia and the Taliban in Pakistan.

Some Grade 4 students may be interested in focusing on Ideological conflict for their research this week.
