	Personal reading 15-20 minutes each day and record your reading in your reading log each day. Reading narratives Select a story you would like to read to the class. It may be a picture book, myth or a folk tale. You will be assigned a day to share. You will need to practice reading the story at home so you are fluent and read with expression.
	Math Select 4 fraction word problems from the grid. Solve the problems and bring your working out to class. We will share solutions and strategies on Friday. For additional practice you can use Mathletics and Front row.
	Unit Select another unit task from the Unit grid (below). Bring your work to share on Friday and post a picture / comment on your blog.

Unit Tasks

Chose one home learning task for the week.

Bring the Peace plan, Game, Art or Perfect world writing to class on Friday.

Be ready to share this with your peers.

Also take a copy or picture of your work and post on your blog.

Peace plan Think of a creative way you can help to make the world a more peaceful place. Write your idea as a goal supported by 3 steps you will follow to achieve it	Peace game Design a team game based on promoting peace Write down the objectives and rules of the game. Practice the game at home You will share you game with the class
Peace Art Create a piece of art using any medium. Consider some of the following questions What color is peace? What kind of weather is peace? What day of the week is peace? What leisure activities create a feeling of peace?	A perfect world Write 3 paragraphs describing the type of world you would like to live in. How would it be different from today’s world? Give reasons for the choices you have made.

Angela’s hair grows ⅗ cm each month. How much will her hair grow in one year?	⅕ of the animals in the zoo are monkeys. There are 50 animals in the zoo. How many monkeys are there?
Liams glass holds ¾ cup of juice. If he fills his glass twice and drinks all the juice - how much did he drink?	Leonardo uses ⅔ tube of green paint to paint one picture. He plans to paint 5 pictures - how many tubes of paint will he need?
Jiwon ran ⅔ km for 7 days. How far did she run?	Kai ran ½ km yesterday. Today he ran 6 times as far. How far did he run today?
A cupcake recipe stated you need ¾ cup of butter. If you want to make a double batch of cupcakes how much butter will you need?	Christopher operates a hot dog stand. On Wednesday he used 4 bags of hot dog buns. On Thursday he used 1/5 as many hot dog buns as on Wednesday. How many bags of hot dog buns did Christopher use on Thursday?
