How much is a trillion? What is a Googol?
What is the biggest number?
What does infinity mean?
The students sought the answers using iPads and Math dictionaries. They came up many ideas for the biggest possible number.
We then discussed their homework question.
What would the world be like if we did not have a number system?
How would you measure anything ... time? distance? weight? volume?
liquid? medicine? temperature?
Would there be a calendar? How would you know when you were born?
How would we record events?
How would there be money? How would you buy or sell anything?
How would we measure locations - longitude and latitude?
