Reading : Visualizing Strategy
Read a book of your choice for 20 + minutes each day at home.
As you are reading choose a passage that has no illustrations but is descriptive (and allows you to build a picture in your mind).
Draw what you visualize on a piece of A4 paper.
Type the text  on a google doc and share it with me.
In class we  will match the pictures with the different pieces of text.

Solve the two math problems listed below.

Ask a parent or another adult about one of their favorite artists. Why does he or she like this artist? How does this artist express himself or herself? What is one of your parent’s favorite works? Why? What is the artist’s connection with society? Does the artist have a message to tell? or Is the artist creating artwork in response to events happening in the world?  Ask any other relevant questions.  
Write a post on your blog with information you gathered from your interview and add any appropriate links to show the artist’s work. You can record your interview in question and answer, or summary format. You will share this interview with your peers.

Math Problem solving ….

  1. Mixed-up Socks


Start with three pairs of socks. Now mix them up so that no mismatched pair is the same as another mismatched pair.

Now try it with four pairs of socks. Is there more than one way to do it?
Show how you solved this problem. You may like to use colored blocks / objects as you work it out.



2. Two-digit Targets


You have a set of the digits from 0 - 9.

0 - 9

Can you arrange these digits in the five boxes below to make two-digit numbers as close to the targets as possible? You may use each digit once only.
