Mapping and plotting coordinates

Today in Math we reviewed our understanding of longitude and latitude. We used an atlas to answer questions about the Equator, Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer.

We also completed a mapping exercise and followed coordinates to find the hidden treasure.

We will revisit these concepts later in the year. Today was just a refresher so students are not concerned if there are mapping question on ISA questions next week.
The students wrote me notes on their work about how they felt about doing mapping exercises.
