Presentations and Open morning

Dear Grade 4 parents

Just a note to let you know about two things that are happening this week.

On Thursday the students will present their leader research to the class.

Some students have decided to do a monologue / speech as their leader. They may wish to wear a hat or a jacket to get into character. This is not expected but I wanted to give you a few days notice in case your child has grand plans.

Other students have created Google slides, Explain everything videos, Facetalker presentations and posters. These students will be speaking about their chosen leader.

I am encouraging the students to create cue cards and try to not read from the screen or poster. We will make cue cards in class and will also practice at school, but there may be some nerves on Thursday morning on the way to school.

Also on Friday we are having an Open classroom for the first 20-30 minutes. You are very welcome to pop into the room and let your child show you work they have been doing. It is very informal and not compulsory. If you really want to pop in but cannot make it on Friday you are very welcome to come another morning or afternoon.

The plan is that for the first 30 minutes on Friday the students that have a visiting parent can wander around with them showing off their learning. You can stay for 5 minutes or 30 minutes - whatever you are comfortable with. Students not sharing will be reading or work on math practice - Front row on the iPad.

I am looking forward to meeting you all this week at Settling in conferences and maybe also at the Open morning.

Kind Regards
Alison
