Trying our own explanation


We have been reading examples of well written explanations and highlighting the important features. The students are now working in small groups to write explanations.  

They selected a topic that interested them and have started gathering information and planning their writing.

Some of the topics that interested students include ...
What is the water cycle? What is gravity? What is lightning? What is an earthquake?
Why do people recycle? How does a bicycle work? Explain which wild animal you find most fascinating, and why? Explain how bees make honey? How do we digest food and create energy?
