Home Learning Activities Grade 4/5 – MS ALISON Due: Friday 10th October

	Unit - Energy How has energy usage in schools changed in the last 25 - 50 years. Interview your parents or grandparents about what school was like when they were your age. Present your finding of what is the same and different using a Venn Diagram. Try to include at least 5 items in each section of the venn diagram.
	Math This week we are starting work on word problems using simple number strategies. Try the 6 problems in your homework book. Highlight the important words in the question and show your working out. For additional math practice keep playing multiplication games at home and use Frontrow, Mathletics and IXL.
	Writing Imagine you created a time machine and could travel to any date in history. Write about where and when you would want to travel. Explain your answer. Grade 4 - write one paragraph minimum, Grade 5 - write 2 paragraphs minimum.
	Reading Read each day for at least 20 minutes. Record your reading in your reading log each morning. Record books read on Biblionasium.
