Math
This week you will be practicing mental math skills - especially multiplication & addition. You will record your results each day in the chart in your homework book.
You will do at least 10 minutes of Math practice each day.
You will play 5 minutes of Flipper / Dice multiplication. You will check your multiplication accuracy and record the number of flips and your total.
You will also use cards or a dice to play the reach 300 game. You need to do the thinking in your head and write the answer on the page. If you get to 300 in under 5 minutes - continue backwards (starting at 300 and going down to 0)
For additional Math practice you can also use Front-row, Mathletics and IXL.

Writing
You will write a persuasive letter to me telling me why you would be a great ESRG representative for our class. The student rep will be the voice for our class.
You will include three arguments (3 paragraphs) convincing me that you are the right person for the job.
I recommend you focus on the qualities we are looking for - Think about the earner profile and attitudes.
If you are really interested in being a candidate you can use these arguments in your speech to the class. If you do not want to apply you still need to complete the letter and practice your persuasive writing skills.

Research
Your group will choose one aspect of energy to research. You will create a google doc with your group and collect information about your energy source. You can include pictures (evidence to back up your ideas).
You can use books or the internet and must cite all information added to the document.
On Friday you will use this document to create an informative poster explaining what the source is, where it is found / created, advantages and disadvantages.
Groups will then explain the advantages and disadvantages of each energy source to the class.
We will explore - Coal, Nuclear, Hydroelectric, Gas / Oil, Wind, & Solar energy sources.
