They were all given a card with a word, definition and picture. They thought about how they could best explain the word to another students. They thought of synonyms, definitions in their own words, sentences with the words and examples. They explained their word to a peer and listened to other students teach their word.
This helped the students gain a good understanding of the key words ...
products, services, supply, demand, profit, seller, customer, and market.
We also thought about the words in the Central idea that were difficult to understand.
We worked in small groups and used the iPads to find out the meanings of these words.
Tomorrow we will think some more about the Central idea 'Markets exist in order to fulfill the needs and wants of a community'.
We also watched some Brainpop animations that relate to our Marketplace unit.
