Dance workshop

Today the students listened to Mr Stephen Bimson talk about dance and how we can use our bodies to tell a story, send a message and make people think.

Classically trained Mr Stephen said that artists ask questions about what is going on in their world. They wonder ..

  • How it affects them?
  • How it affects others?
  • Is it good for the world?

Mr Stephen then did warm up activities with the students and a mini workshop showing how you can use everyday objects in dance movements to tell a story.

He is currently working on a project where he is expressing his concern about the way people are disconnected and not speaking face to face & also the rubbish and pollution in Phnom Penh.

The students used a plastic bag to make sounds and create movements to communicate with another person only using body language.

If your child enjoyed the dance workshop they may be interested in Stephens Central school of Ballet - see the link below.
