Listening, Jot notes and recreating text

The Grade 4 students have been practicing their listening skills.
Today we completed a Dictogloss activity with Ms Marcelle.

Ms Marcelle read a short piece about The Nobel Prizes. The students listened, then listened again and wrote down jots notes with key words.

They worked in pairs to recreated the text, trying to include important facts in the order they were presented. They also tried to use the same technical language as the original text.

Students shared their interpretations with the class. Many were very accurate.
