	Unit - Shape of a leader Research quotes about a good leader. Find a quote that you agree with. Share this quote with the class and be ready to explain why you like it. Ie .. "What you do has far greater impact than what you say." --Steven Covey
	Math - Geometry This week we are starting geometry. Draw a diagram to plot the steps you need to take on graph paper in your HW book to solve the problem described below. For additional work on your geometry skills practice on IXL and Mathletics.
	Q & A - in your HW book or on a google doc shared with me Are you a leader or do you prefer to follow? Who are the leaders in your family? Why do you think this? Rank your family - leaders to followers. How does your family make decisions that affect everyone? does everyone have a say? Do you think it is important to have leaders? Why? Discuss with your family the characteristics of a leader. How do these compare to the top 5 characteristics you listed in your reflection journal?
	Reading Read each day for at least 20 minutes. Record your reading in your reading log each morning. Record books read on Biblionasium.
	Presenting You will share your quote and explain why you like it, what it means. You will also share your Math working out and answer on Friday.

Math - Geometry puzzle (try this word problem after Monday's class)

Charlie was at a party. He asked if there was more soda. The host said there was more in the basement. Charlie offered to collect the soda even though there were no lights in the basement. Charlie listened to the instructions so he could find the soda in the dark. Follow these on the grid paper - each step is one grid square (show me your working out) Go to the bottom of the stairs Take 5 steps perpendicular to the bottom step Turn right and take 23 steps forward Turn 90 o to your left and take 12 steps directly in front of you. Turn 90 and take another 3 steps Make a 90 o turn to your left and go 14 steps. Turn right and go 15 steps and the soda will be at your feet. Charlie thought for a moment and said he could do it but could think of a much shorter way.            Use your grid diagram to work out what the easier instructions are.
