Visit to Christian church

This week we have been learning about the beliefs and practices of Christianity. We watched a documentary on Thursday so we were ready for our trip to the church. On Friday we listened to Father Charlie, asked lots of questions and then had time to tour the church and saw the Sacristy, Sanctuary, Tabernacle, Altar and Baptismal Font and the Bible. We even went behind the scenes and saw the robes the priest wear on different occasions and the communion wafers.

The students have started writing about what they saw ...
We went to a Christian church. In the church there was a cross with Jesus on it. There were glass windows. There was a painting of his last meal and a wood carving of Jesus mother Mary. There  was a guy who worked at the church. He is a priest. He told us the story of Jesus. The story went like this… Jesus father told him (his father was God) that he was going to send Jesus to earth to tell the people about love. When Jesus told the Kings that they should make people equal the Kings got mad and decided to punish him. The killed him on a cross.

We will continue writing reflections on Monday. These will be posted on the students blogs.
