Home Learning Activities Grade 4/5 – MS ALISON Due: Friday 29th August

	Reading You will read a book of your choice for 20 + minutes each day at home. You will record your reading each morning in the classroom. You will also write down the name of one character in a book you have been reading and describe a value they hold. You will need to backup your choice with evidence from the book.
	Unit / Writing Brainstorm ideas of what you believe Circle the beliefs that are the strongest   Using these words write a personal belief statement that you could try hard to live by. This will not be shared with the class - just read by me. We will write an example belief statement as a class on Monday morning.
	Math - Practicing math skills This week we are starting to use 2 programs for math practice. IXL & Front row You will be emailed your IXL log in and the class code for Front row. Spend 30+ minutes this week (no calculator) working on Number and Place value questions. I will get class reports and follow your progress.
	Belief symbols Using an A4 piece of paper create an imaginative piece of art showing as many different belief symbols as you can find with your own belief symbol as a feature in the centre.
	Oral presentation On Friday you will share your belief symbol art and discuss the values of a character in a book you are currently reading.
