Grade 4 / 5 Field Trips

Dear Parents/Guardians

UNIT OF INQUIRY FIELD TRIPS

Over the next six weeks we plan to have several field trips, related to our present Unit of Inquiry, “Who We are:  Belief Systems”.  

The students will have the opportunity to visit different places of worship, find out more about different beliefs by observing sacred places, listening to speakers, and asking questions.   

Also, on 20 August we are fortunate to have the opportunity to visit the NGO Fair on the new Secondary Campus, where students will work in multi-aged groups to listen to speakers, and do hands on activities, to learn more about how NGOs help in Cambodia.  

Zach Bonner, C E O of the Red Wagon Foundation, an inspirational young seventeen year old, will also be there to talk about how he took action as a young boy to help provide water for disaster victims.

To make it easier for you we are sending one permission slip home to cover the confirmed trips which are listed below. Students will be transported on buses with seat belts.

(1) Wednesday 13 August (Ms. Alison’s, Ms. Melinda’s & Ms. Emily’s classes)

Visit to Wat Langka, St 51 and Sihanouk Boulevard

Students will be accompanied by Ms. Alison, Ms. Melinda, Ms. Emily, Mr. Puy and Mr. Wathana, Ms. Sengny, and one parent (to be arranged).

OR Friday 15 August (Ms. Bridget’s and Mr. Jon’s classes)

Visit to Wat Langka, St 51 and Sihanouk Boulevard

Students will be accompanied by Mr. Jon, Ms. Bridget, Mr. Puy, and Mr. Wathana.

(2) Wednesday 20 August (all Grade 4 / 5 classes)

NGO Fair at New Secondary Campus

Students will be accompanied by all five in the G4/5 teaching team (teachers and teacher aides) and five parents/other teachers (to be arranged).

(3) Wednesday 27 August 2014

Visit to Phnom Chisor

Students will be accompanied by all five in the G4/5 teaching team and five parents/other teachers (to be arranged).

Please complete the permission slip and ask your child to return it to the class teacher on Monday 11 August 2014 (a hard copy has been sent home)
