Ms Alisons class information

Things you may like need to bring

Now, as on any great voyage, you will need some equipment this year... Although ISPP provides most of the things we will use in class, you and your parents/guardians may want to buy the following items outside of school:
 1) A small pencil case
 2) A two-way bilingual dictionary (highly recommended if English is not your first language). This should be between your first language and English. For example, if your first language is Russian, you will want a Russian-English/English-Russian dictionary.
3) A water bottle.

Please make sure you clearly label all your personal belongings.

PE Kit

A brand new PE outfit will be available in a few weeks. You will be receiving an email from the Elementary Office shortly.

Snacks & Lunches

This year students will be able to purchase snacks from Comme a la maison through a token / coupon system. Grade 4/5 will be able to purchase their lunches as well.
Please contact the Elementary ISPP Office for more information.

Here is a link to their website - http://commealamaison-delicatessen.com/

I would furthermore like to remind you to please send your child to school on before 7:30 am with a snack for break time and don’t forget, a durable and reusable bottle for drinking water.

Your child can bring their lunch to school or it can be placed in my class basket at the St 370 gate by 12.10pm.

Class Schedule

MONDAY:   Music,  Weekly homework assigned
TUESDAY:   FL / EAL,  PE,  Library – book swap
WEDNESDAY PE,  FL / EAL
THURSDAY: Art, Swimming
FRIDAY FL / EAL,  Homework sharing

PE – Students will wear sports uniform to school and change after their PE lesson.
Swimming – Students will need to bring their swimming costume, goggles and a towel.

Homework

Each week your child will have weekly homework. I will paste this sheet in a homework book.
I will also be posting it on the class blog and will send it to your child’s email address.

Most weeks the tasks will include reading, writing, unit of inquiry, math and an oral presentation task.

For the first month students will complete their homework in their homework books. Once all the students are comfortable with their email and G Drive I will offer the option of electronic homework submission.

This homework supports what is being worked on in the classroom. It is due on the Friday as this is when we share our ideas and present to the class. If for a valid reason the homework cannot be completed please let me know by email or a note. Your child can complete this work over the weekend or we can omit a task. If your child is having a particularly busy week then I would prefer that reading be completed above all other homework.

Communication

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me or make an appointment for us to meet and discuss. No question is too silly and no concern is too small. I want your child to feel safe, confident and happy in our Grade 4/5 class.
