Homework - due Friday 8th May

Home Learning Activities Grade 4/5 – MS ALISON    Due: Friday 8th May
Create a google doc titled (Your name) Homework due 8th May and share.
You can bring in a hard copy of the Math solutions - ready to share your thinking with the class on Friday.

Unit of Inquiry   How We Organise Ourselves:
CI: Markets operate in response to supply and demand.

This week we will be continuing our class market project.
We will also start thinking about the project we would like to undertake in small groups.

  • We have discussed why people sell certain products -  supply and demand = form.
  • We have seen evidence of how a market operates = function.
  • We have looked at what influences how a market operates  = causation.

Your task this week is you to think about what you would like to make and  sell at the Grade 4/5 market. Brainstorm a list of ideas and think about who you would like to work with.
On Friday we will share our ideas, confirm groups and get started on our projects. We will follow the steps we used for the whole class snack stand.
Reading
Read for 20 mins + each day and complete your class reading log.
Try to finish the book you are currently reading. Next week you will be recommending books to your peers.
Writing: Sensory task
Last Friday we visited the BKK market.
We wrote down what we could see, smell, hear, feel and taste.
Use your notes and the class collective brainstorm of descriptive words (on board & pictures on blog) to create a poem of a piece of writing about the marketplace. Your piece of writing must contain all senses.

If you chose to write a poem it must have at least 3 verses. If you chose to write a story it must be at least 3 paragraphs.
You will present your story or poem to the class on Friday.
