Market morning

The students were busy, buying, selling and negotiating prices this morning.
The market was open for business for 30 minutes. Then each company had time to reflect on their sales and make a plan on how they could sell the rest of their products. At 9.30 we started round two of sales, with reduced prices and special offers aplenty.

Mixed groups Measurement quiz game

The students worked in 4 mixed groups to solve measurement problems this morning.
Awesome Phoenix, MMIB, Calculators and Chocolate were the names given to teams.
They worked together to try to solve questions for 1 point, 2 points or 3 points.

The winning team was aptly named The Calculators.

Book recommendations by Grade 4/5 students

Ms Ann has set up a padlet of book covers for books that students recommend others try.
Our class chose a book they wanted to recommend, convinced the class it was a good read and added it to Ms Ann's list. They are not all books from the ISPP library - just any books students have enjoyed reading in the past year.

If you are looking for some great books to read over the summer break - check out the link on the library blog.

Go the the Grade 3-5 padlet link and create a wish list. Add another suggestion if you have another great title to share.

Best day of my life

The Grade 4/5 students will be singing this song at the Grade 5 Moving ceremony and the final assembly.

The students will need to practice this song for homework.
Here are the lyrics.

I had a dream so big and loud
I jumped so high I touched the clouds
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh

I stretched my hands out to the sky
We danced with monsters through the night
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh

I'm never gonna look back
Woah, never gonna give it up
No, please don't wake me now

This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife

I howled at the moon with friends
And then the sun came crashing in
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh

But all the possibilities
No limits just epiphanies
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh

I'm never gonna look back
Woah, never gonna give it up
No, just don't wake me now

This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife

I hear it calling outside my window
I feel it in my soul
The stars were burning so bright
The sun was out 'til midnight
I say we lose control (

This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife

This is gonna be, this is gonna be, this is gonna be
The best day of my life
Everything is looking up, everybody up now
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife

Some students in our class have older sibling competing.

If you want to follow their progress you can check out the junior volleyball website.

The students were reciting poems to the class this morning.
They were practicing their presentation skills.
Speaking clearly, projecting their voice, using tone and rhythm for effect.
