This week we finished reading our class book 'The Lion the Witch and Wardrobe'.
We watched the movie together and made connections with the characters and their beliefs.
Watching a version of the book we had just read helped the students to understand the events that took place and visualize the magical land of Narnia.
Next week we will start our new class read.
We will be reading 'Hoot' written by Carl Hiaasen
It is a story about a boy, Roy who moves to Florida and encounters a bully at his new school. He has to work out how to resolve the conflict.
Roy also realizes that the construction of a new Pancake Restaurant in town is going to damage the habitat of the owls that burrow there. He needs to be creative to find a way to stop the construction and save the owls.
