Sensory Writing

The Grade 4 students are trying to be more descriptive in their writing.
We went outside and sat in the playground for 10 minutes.
We used all 5 senses and wrote down what we could see, hear, smell, feel and taste.

Here are some examples students shared.

I feel the burning hot sun , beating down on my back.  Zoe

I hear children laughing in the distance.   Helen

I see footprints in the soft sand.    Calidina

I see birds flying in the air and playing in the trees. Mony

I hear birds chirping like singers in the class choir.  Stirling

I see big and small clouds that are moving. Eemil

I hear the roar of a helicopter.  Jihwan

I see plants swaying in the breeze.   Otis

I see a tall pole with a security camera on top, watching me.   Tasha

I see ants in the tall grass, roaming peacefully. Monyroat

I can hear the wind pounding in my ears and birds chirping.   Kim Chhoung

I hear children shouting and balls bouncing.  Keith

We will continue to add description and detail to our writing to make it more interesting for the reader.
