Discussion - How school has changed ..

The Grade 4 students shared what they learned when talking to their parents last week.
We created a class Venn diagram - showing many differences in schools, the way we use energy and the way we learn.

The biggest point most students shared was - schools did not have computers, internet, iPads and applications to help their parents learn.
25 - 50 years ago students used blackboards, paper and pencil, read the newspaper or listened to the radio to find out what was happening in the world and used books / encyclopedia's when trying to understand something or do a project.

Other major points included no air conditioning and classrooms were small but numbers of students were high. I could relate to that memory. There were 40 students in my class when I was in Grade 4.
