THE PLIGHT OF ENDANGERED SPECIES
Many students in our class are interested learning more about endangered animals and plants.
We have found out that there are 41,415 species on the endangered list.
The species that are endangered include one in four mammals, one in eight birds, one third of all amphibians and 70% of the worlds plants.
In the last 500 years human activity has forced over 800 species into extinction.
The students have been researching animals that are at risk and will research more animals at home this week. We will share our findings and discuss the human activity that is contributing to these scary statistics. We will also be discussing what we can do to help prevent further extinction.
