Global issues we are focusing on

The students have been thinking about the global issues that they want to understand in more detail.
They have selected the issue they will be researching this week. They will use their research notes in their summative assessment task the following week.

In our class students are interested in

  • Child rights
  • Poverty
  • Climate change
  • Oil spills
  • Air pollution
  • Religious persecution
  • Child labor
  • Human trafficking
  • Side effects of dams
  • Endangered animals

TASK SHEET


  1. Select the Global issue you are interested in researching in more detail
  2. Look for helpful newspaper articles, websites, NGO pages. Find 10 that give you credible, relevant information. Use the reading tool to select articles you understand.
  3. List these references at the bottom of your document: Paste links - Use EasyBib to help you.
  4. Start to read through these resources. Pick out relevant information and put it in the sections below in your own words. If it is a quote or statistic put the site next to it in brackets. Make sure you backup your ideas with evidence.
