Child labor and vocabulary

We read the story of Pakistani born, Iqbal Mashih who was sold into forced labor when he was 4 years old. When he was ten he escaped and was able to go to school.

We also read about Canadian born, Craig Kielburger. When he was 12 years old he heard about Iqbal and decided he wanted to make a difference in lives of children just like him. In 1995 he bagan making people aware of child labor. Craig is now a part of one of the world largest networks of children helping children - Free the children.

We worked in groups to understand the meaning of the terms Social development, Exploitation, Hazardous and Interferes. For each of these words we wrote definitions in our own words, thought of an antonym and created sentences that showed meaning.
