Visit to the Cloud gallery

We visited the Cloud Gallery today with students from our partner school. 

We found our pieces of art, completed a scavenger hunt and played stopball in the park with our friends.

	Personal reading Read for a minimum of 20 minutes each day and record your reading in your reading log. Try to finish a chapter book this week to contribute to the class reading challenge. So far we have read 28 books.
	Maths - Fractions in our life Try to be creative and show images that show what fractions look like in real life. Post the pictures on your blog. Show an example of  ½ Show an example of  ⅓ Show an example of  ¼ Show an example of  ⅕ Show an example of  ⅙
	Writing - Book review Complete a book review (template is in the classroom) this week. The book you review should be a chapter book and at your reading level. Not too easy, not too difficult.
	Unit - Marketplace Last week Ms Lindy from the ISPP Marketing team came to speak to us about her role. We discussed some ideas of how we can market ISPP, encourage people to enroll their children in the school. Create a marketing campaign promoting the school using a strategy you are comfortable with. You may make an infomercial, a short movie, an advertising poster, a rap song, a newspaper article or persuasive letter. Share your marketing strategy with me. We will share with the class on Friday.

2 field trips this week - Mon & Tues

We have two field trips this week. 

On Monday 1st May - Art trip

All the Grade 4 students have an art field trip with the students from Chak Angkre Primary school on Monday, May 1 from 7:30-9:30am. 

We will depart school just after 7.30am.

We will travel in 4 buses and go to Cloud Gallery (St. 9 and 312) to view student's artwork at the SAPP Art Exhibition. We will also then going to Wat Botum Park to play games and eat snacks.

Students will need to bring their cap, snack and water bottle. 

On Tuesday 2nd May - Unit trip

Our class is visiting three businesses on Tuesday morning. We will travel in one bus. 

We will depart school at 7.40am and will return before lunch - 11.45am. 

We will visit Bread Talk (St 51), Friends International (St 174) and a restaurant owned by Pheakdey's family near the old campus. 

Students will need to bring their cap, snack and water bottle.

Students can bring money if they would like to purchase a gift from the Friends gift shop.

The Grade 4 students finished their infomercials using unit words and filmed them today.

Monopoly games afternoon

A fun way to practice what we have been learning about in our Marketplace unit ... Monopoly.
We had games in small groups this afternoon.

Eemil, Zoe, Jasmine and Mony bought up so many properties they were almost unbeatable.

First Minecraft - Marketplace session

The Grade 4 students are working hard to build up their Empire with their Minecraft group in the lab today.

Pumpkin crops, wheat crops, livestock and bread sales and cake sales are helping boost profits.

The students will be doing a Marketplace simulation using Minecraft for the next month. They will work as a team to try to create a successful business with high profits. 

Today we were learning all the tricks to stay alive, grow crops and make lots of profit.

Marketing guest speaker - Ms Lindy

Ms Lindy - The Communications and Marketing Manager at ISPP spoke to the Grade 4 students today.

Ms Lindy spoke to the students about the roles in the Admissions and Marketing Department at the school.

The school uses ISPP website, Facebook, Twitter, Pulse, Tours, Billboards and advertising on 20 tuk Tuks, newspapers and magazines. The Marketing department decoded which forms of communication are the most successful to decide which ones to continue.
