Writing poetry in the style os Dr Seuss

This week we have been exploring the work of Dr Seuss.
The students have read his books, drawn pictures, acted out scenes and tried to write simple rhyming poems in his style.

Here is some of the students writing...

While Katie sat there caring and kind
A stranger came sneaking up softly behind
Katie

What to do
Hmm let’s see
The first thing to do
Is climb the tree
Siwoo

Here she is
My crazy sis
She brushes her hair
With a teddy bear

There’s her dress
It’s such a mess
Her make up is bad
She makes me sad

Her eyes are small
She’s shaped like a ball
Joyii

Here he is
The boy in the hat
He took a seat
On top of the cat
He played with me
We sat in a tree

Come down right now
Said Ms. Clawcladen Dry
When I came down
I started to cry
Meng Seu

When I opened the door
I saw a boar
He said what a strong door
I said are you sure?
He said yes
But what a mess

He wished me good luck
But a shame I’m not a duck

He asked me my name
I said my name is a game
Bunleng
