Starting new recounts

OUCH!

Today we started new recounts. The students were writing about a time they injured themselves.
The students wrote detailed plans for a 4 paragraph recount and started writing their stories. They tried to write using a sizzling start - a more interesting beginning.

Here are a few introductory paragraphs.

The boys were screaming about Mine-craft at the back of the bus again. Anna and I were finishing putting on our socks and cleats. Once again I forgot my shin guards.

We arrived at the ISPP field. I jumped off the bus and looked up. Clouds were starting to gather up. If felt like it was going to rain. 

Ellie

I am on the horse waiting for my turn. It is my turn!

I set off trotting. I can feel the horse going up and down. I am trying to go faster. I’m whipping and kicking the horse. She won’t go any faster. I am getting frustrated. Everybody is counting on me. I need to win.

Molly

I was swimming in the pool. It was the summer holiday. I could see my mum texting on her phone. I could feel the cold water surrounding me. I decided to do something sneaky.

Issarak

I could hear the birds chirping in the distance. I had a pack on my back. I was climbing a mountain with my mum and dad. We were going to see some bats in a cave. I could feel sweat trickling down my face. We were climbing higher and higher.

Carlota

I held the banana leaf. I wrapped the leaf with the sticky rice mixture and handed it to my teacher. She added some banana and added it to the finished pile. We sat together to eat. I tasted the sweet taste of banana with yummy sticky rice with sugar from the palm tree. It was delicious.

Bun San

I feel speed as I race with my friend. I feel pain in my legs because I am running so fast. I am in my PE class. I am racing against my friend. We are very close together. I think I can beat him. I look forward, towards the finish line …. Crash!

Jung Ho

I jumped up high, flying through the air. I landed on the squeaky bed and started to giggle. I felt excited. I jumped so high I could touch the roof with my hands. I felt free. The bed was like a trampoline.

Bun Leng

I could see the ocean waving to me. I jumped in the water with my sister Champa and my brother Junho. We were looking for colorful fish. It was like I was free.

Champei

Ning-ning-ning goes the chainsaw. I am chopping up a car. This is amazing! My friends mum calls me and I drop the PSP control. The game is interrupted. I walked past the upright fan as I walked to the table.

Arthur
