Thinking about values

We have started our new Unit of Inquiry - Belief Systems  

Who We Are
An inquiry into the nature of the self, beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communicates, and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human.

Central Idea: Understanding our own and other beliefs and values helps us respect each other.

Concepts: Connection, Perspective, Reflection

Lines of Inquiry:
Similarities and differences in belief systems.
Our beliefs and values influence the way we act.
Respecting the beliefs and values of others.

Learner Profile: Open-minded, Reflective.
Attitudes: Empathy, Appreciation, Tolerance.

Today we started thinking about values. We discussed what values are, brainstormed examples and thought about some of the things are that we value. We wrote in our journals and thought of examples of how our values affect our choices and our behavior.
