Ms Sophiline Cheam Shapiro came to speak to the
Grade 4/5 students yesterday. She is the Artistic director of Khmer Arts -
fostering the vitality of Cambodian arts across borders.
Through its numerous programs, it seeks to create a continuum
of recruitment, training, research, outreach, creation and performance that
develops accomplished artists, compelling works of art and diverse, informed
audiences.
Ms Sophiline was talking to the students about her business
and her craft. She said the beauty of Cambodian dance reflects the resilience,
strength and spirit of the Cambodian people.
The students were also treated to two dances by Khmer Arts performers.
They tour extensively and are in Phnom Penh for performances
on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th May.
