Belief systems - our new unit of inquiry

Belief Systems  

We have started our next unit of inquiry - Who we are / Belief systems.
This week we will be asking questions and defining beliefs / values.
We will start by looking at two religions Buddhism and Hinduism. 
These relate to our field trip on Friday to Phnom Chisor.

Who We Are
An inquiry into the nature of the self, beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communicates, and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human.

Central Idea: Understanding our own and other peoples beliefs and values help us to respect each other.

Concepts: Connection, Perspective, Reflection

Lines of Inquiry:
1) The similarities and differences in belief systems
2) How our beliefs and values influence the way we act.
3) Respecting the beliefs and values of others.

Learner Profile: Open-minded, Reflective.

Attitudes: Empathy, Appreciation, Tolerance.
